Women's Participation in Development

During August 21-23, 2002, Mr.Jin Zhicheng, assistant representative of UNFPA, accompanied by Mr.Chen Shenghua, an expert of microfinance from Rural Development Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Science, had visited ARDY and examined the implementary conditions of PO1 and PO2.(PO1-namely project of reproductive health, PO2-empower women through promotion of women's reproductive health and women's participation in income creation)

In three days in Yilong County, Mr.Jin and Mr.Chen had detailedly reviewed the operation of Microfinance supported by UNFPA, and gone two project townships, Malu and Biquan, to examine the usage of equipment of family plan supported by PO1, visit the rebuilt village sanitation stations, participate in the farmer center meeting to taste the huge improvements in local women the project brought. Based on the facts they watched, they made a high appraisal of ARDY's successful project operation.
